Our dogs

Currently we have seven Bracchi but the extended Bonario family will always be important to us whether they are pets, field trial winners or best in show winners!

Top Puppy, Top Bracco & BIS Dog of the Year ’02, Top Bracco ‘04
1 x CACIB , the first Bracco to achieve a group placing in Ireland, Grp 2

A dog in a million Riley will always have a special place in my heart, I miss him every day. A true showman he always turned heads but at home he was just a big softy, loved his cuddles, his bed and the girls!

BIS Dog of the Year ’04, ’05, Top Bitch ’05, ’06,
Top Brood Bitch ’08, ’09, ’11.

Placed in agility competitions and part of a heelwork to music display team Nuala was an incredibly intelligent bitch and we had a lot of fun together. Known as the headmistress at home she kept everyone in line but was loved by all. We lost Nu at 13, she was fit and active until the last couple of days, leaving us as she lived, quietly and with dignity.

From our first home bred Bracco litter Sorcha was incredibly successful in the show ring and her gentle calm but affectionate manner meant she was a pleasure to live with. Like her Mum she lived 'til 13, enjoying life until the end.

Much happier in the field than in the show ring Cully completed eight seasons as a much valued member of the Aldermoor shoot. We are very proud that Cully has been placed at Crufts in the BASC Working Gundog classes in both the Team and the AV HPR, Pointer, Setter Class. An excellent hunter she held a staunch point was always steady and dependable. Beauty and brains she was truly dual-purpose! We lost Cully in 2020

Fi was one of life's gentle souls. She lived to hunt, even in the garden she spent her time hunting birds. Friendly with everyone but is usually far too busy to socialise with any dogs she meets, a quick hello, nice to meet you and on her way. She loved going out with the bike, running like the wind, but will stop as soon as an interesting scent catches her attention. One of those dogs who is just so easy, a pleasure to live with.
This photo typifies Fi, nose dirty from digging and twitching to catch a scent but so calm and placid. Have a look at Riley's photo, she was her Grandad in female form.

Imported from Italy Milo arrived with us in January of 2012. He had the sweetest nature and wass kind and gentle with everyone he meets. Milo loved everything soft and anything that went missing wass usually found in his bed, towels, t shirts, underwear, other dogs bedding nothing is safe! The sire of five beautiful litters he confirmed our decision to bring his superb bloodlines to the UK. Milo proved to be a sire of excellent working dogs, with success in the field, at Working Tests and Field Trials. He also sired Show Champions in the UK and abroad. Sadly we lost Milo in 2020

When they handed out character Reuben got more than his fair share! Not a dog to be ignored he was always up to something and being a very intelligent dog he could be a pain in the proverbial! He was incredibly loving though and wanted to be with you and 'helping' with whatever you were doing. Life was never dull with our funny cuddly boy.

The pup we were not supposed to keep.... Bentley was destined for a home in the US but it fell through he stayed here. Perhaps it was meant to be. He was  well placed in working tests and was second in the BASC working Gundog Class at Crufts '14. He inherited his Fathers sweet temperament and his Mothers calm placid nature, a sheer joy to own. Bentley proved to be an excellent hunter with a superb nose and a staunch point.

My working dog, Elsa has taken up the reins and become a valued member of our shoot. We work the boundaries letting the Spaniels run through. Elsa finds the ones missed, the one trying to sneak out and the tucked in ones! She's know as the Woodcock dog too. A steady quiet girl she has much of her sire, Milo, about her.

We hoped to compete with Wren but she really doesn't enjoy the pressure so will work on the shoot with Elsa. She is a challenge, but what a challenge. Wren is great fun, very loving but like her Mum, loves to go at full speed. Her first season on the shoot brought out her true colours and she loved every minute! Wren has a CAC and the TAN, both achieved in France.

Kiva is proving to be an excellent working dog. She is a joy to train, doing everything with great enthusiasm. A litter from her is planned for '24. Fingers firmly crossed for the future.
